Points of Pride

J.W. Arnold Elementary's 5 Points of Pride:

1. Guy's Night Out

A night-out for fathers and father figures to bond and build relationships with their son(s). This is an opportunity to engage our fathers/father figures in various fun-filled activities with their son(s). This is a time to fellowship and form new relationships. When fathers and father figures are involved, their children learn more and perform better in school.

2. Taste of J.W. Arnold: Chili Cook Off

A family/school engagement event where families come together to compete in a chili cook-off competition. This is a family friendly competition and builds relationships without our school community.

3. First Presbyterian Church of Jonesboro

The church provides food bags for select groups of students to take home each Friday. This initiative helps to relieve hunger and improves our student's overall school experience. It helps improve self-esteem, school attendance and grades.

4. The National Junior Beta Club

The National Junior Beta Club is a service organization focusing on academic achievement, leadership, character, and service. Students are learning to be leaders by serving others within our school and our school community. Students focus on their academics and learn how to advocate for their education.

5. Social Butterflies

Social Butterflies is a mentoring program that empowers girls to make positive life choices that enables them to maximize their social and academic potential. As a member of Social Butterflies, the young girls build self-esteem and reach positive academic and personal goals.
