Points of Pride
J.W. Arnold Elementary's Points of Pride:
PBIS Celebrations & Rewards
PBIS or Positive Behavioral Intervention Support, is an integral part of Arnold's discipline program that seeks to reward students for meeting behavioral expectations and exhibiting the attributes of a Cambridge Learner (which are listed below). When our students meet these expectations, they are acknowledged with Eagle Buck's, parties, game days, and more!
Cambridge Attributes:
1. Be Confident
2. Be Responsible
3. Be Reflective
4. Be Innovative
5. Be Engaged
Cultural Heritage Celebration
Arnold Elementary celebrates the cultures of all its students by recognizing each Heritage Month Celebration. During Hispanic Heritage Month, our Latin community treated us to many amazing foods, drinks, and dances from their culture. For Black History Month we enjoyed a showcase in the cafetorium. Last but not least, for Asian American Pacific Islander Heritage Month, we learned about many citizens from that culture who made great contributions to America.
Placed in CCPS All County Cheer Competition!
Arnold's cheer squad showed up and showed OUT at the CCPS All County Competition in March, and took 2nd place. Way to go, girls!
Bus Poster Contest Winners/Capitol Art Selections
The best art teacher in the county, Mrs. Gomez, had led our students to the top of the arts once again. She has four students that received top honors in county competitions this year; see their extraordinary art below.
